Stars

Today on the bus home, the driver decided to zoom pass my designated alighting stop despite me pressing the bell. Instead of cursing the bus driver, I chose to enjoy the extra walk back home. And boy, the sky was really clear tonight, and it was a beautiful view of all those stars out there. Not forgetting the very round moon (:

The beauty of God’s creation.

So anyway its been awhile since I came here, and it’s been 7 weeks into the semester already. Have been taking a more positive attitude towards school lately and hopefully results will show? Only time will tell..

The past weekend i was at CTSS for a short NCO Camp (2 day 1 night) for the secondary threes. As the coordinator, I believe we have somewhat met our objectives for having this camp. However the work would definitely not stop here, and we’ll be able to better assess the extent of the camp’s effectiveness in the upcoming months. And hopefully the NCOS- to be would have learnt something from it, just like I have learnt intangible lessons through the 2 days and 1 night from them.

Marchpast :)

Alright, so NPCC Annual Parade 2009 is over already!

The Parade preparation for me started on the 10th January this year (2nd Trainer’s Selection) where we revised on our various drill aspects. This was followed by Prepatory Course before we had a short break until the 6th of Feb where we had our very first training.

The first training was chaotic indeed having to deal with a large number of cadets. There was no differentiation between GOH and Supporting Contingents yet as the UOPA results were not released. I started of taking Contingent 4, followed by contingent 8. It was only after the Final allocation of trainer’s that I was posted to be the Contingent Commander for SC 4.

It was no mean feat having to handle and train a contingent of approximately 50 cadets with a fellow trainer, and sometimes alone. But I’m glad that I chose to participate in this year’s parade, because through this experience I benefitted much . I have learnt much from the FIs, HOs, fellow Trainers and even from the cadets themselves. Im glad i was given the opportunity to be a contingent commander despite missing several trainings initially.

To Contingent 4 : (Yes I know some of you would be reading this because you guys are excellent at tracking people down, HAHA)

It has been my pleasure training you guys the past 2 months or so and marching together with all of you in the Parade. You guys have improved much since the first training and I’m glad you guys did well. Im proud to say that all 40 of you from my contingent stood strong and lasted throughout the entire parade. Should a chance arise, I hope to see you guys again.

Alright, so finally NPAP 09 has come to an end, no more going to HTA on fridays, debrief till late, dinner with the trainers and no need to report attendance, HAHA.

This has been a fantastic exeprience I would never regret embarking on :)
